What's in a Name?

Hello Out There to All of You in the Blog-o-Sphere!

It's Me, Kate.
That's what you can call me.

I also go by "Wife" to my Husband, Fausto. (but everyone calls him Fau. Don't look at me, I didn't name him) We're coming up on 6 years of mostly happily wedded bliss.

We have a pretty fantastic and romantic story of how we became "we" as I'm sure many of you do.  The classic tale of guy meets girl at work, girl thinks guy is a total tool, guy this girl is dating wrong other guy and harbors a secret crush for two years until girl is single and makes a move.  Totally normal, right? 







In all honesty, being a wife is my favorite thing.
well...it was until 2 years ago when I was promoted to "Mommy."

That's Max.  

It is the hardest burden I have yet to carry with rewards that are completely immeasurable and hard to explain in any words or any lines of poetry or lyric that has yet to be written.  Max is my side kick in my day to day life.  I'm a Stay at Home Mom and my days are filled with adventures, hugs, dirty everything, temper tantrums (from both of us),  messy ponytails, stories, and the comfort in accepting that my laundry is just never going to be done.  

My friend, Lindsay, Inspired and forced strongly encouraged me to start blogging.  I love to write.  I have always had a calling to do so and even if I'm the only one who reads this, that's OK.  I plan on writing about my life which people seem to tell me is rather interesting.  So look out for playdate ideas, recipes, marriage highs and lows, and everything in between.  In short I am going to tell you everything.
Some factoids you might want to know:

• I'm from all over.  I was born in Indiana, grew up in Connecticut, and went to school in Massachusetts.  I moved to Florida almost a decade ago and I guess that's where I'm 'from' now but I still don't call it home.
• I laugh at myself more than anyone else.  Believe me, I know I'm ridiculous.
• I like to bake.  A LOT.  I taught wilton cake decorating classes and everything.  If you need tips or ideas, please let me help!
• I am SUPER nerdy.  It's true.  Also I harbor much needless information and I will kick your ass at Trivial Pursuit.
• I don't judge anyone for anything.  

So here's the thing blog buddies.  This is my first post.  I'm learning with you.  But I promise you, I'll share it all.  It will be hilarious and I encourage you to stay tuned.
